What are RSS feeds?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." RSS Feeds (i.e., the audio and text files on our Website) are a means of communicating material in a way so that the material is automatically downloaded to your computer without your having to locate it or check for it, and it is freely distributed for your personal use.RSS Feeds are commonly used for "podcasting" (i.e., making files available that are easily downloadable to IPODS or similar electronic devices), which is the intent of the Northpoint Church of Christ RSS Feeds. Podcasting allows you to download our material to your computer or IPOD for your personal studies.
How can I take advantage of the Northpoint RSS Feeds?
Using either an IPOD or computer software, you may "subscribe" to any (and all) of the Northpoint Church of Christ RSS Feeds. One relatively simple software program that will allow you to download RSS Feeds to your computer is Apple iTunes (this is a free download).Once you "subscribe" to the RSS Feeds, only the latest files published to the Northpoint Church of Christ website will be downloaded to your computer. For iTunes, you may subscribe to the Northpoint RSS Feeds by dragging the RSS Feed URL (as listed above in the "Available RSS Feeds") into your podcast playlist or by typing the URL into "Subscribe to Podcast" under the Advanced menu of the ITunes software. An IPOD allows users to subscribe to the Northpoint Church of Christ RSS Feeds, and take the material with them to work, or on a trip, or simply to allow for convenient listening away from the computer.
